The Undergraduate Programme in Mechanical Engineering provides a comprehensive education in core engineering areas such as solid and fluid mechanics, applied thermodynamics, and product and process design.

Program

The Undergraduate Programme in Mechanical Engineering offers a solid foundation in core areas such as solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturing processes, and introduction to product design. It includes experimental and computational work essential to supporting the practical training of engineers. This foundation ensures that graduates are equipped with the critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and autonomy necessary to tackle complex engineering challenges and succeed in the global workforce with confidence and competence.

About the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (DEMI) is a permanent organic unit of NOVA FCT, dedicated to teaching, fundamental and applied scientific research, and the provision of services in the fields of Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
