Student Margarida Marques was re-elected President of the NOVA FCT Students' Association (AEFCT) for the 2024 term during the swearing-in ceremony of the association's new governing bodies.
"I couldn't be more proud of the work we've done. I learnt to be president with you, and I thank you for letting me be your president for two terms. I believe we have challenges ahead of us, but that we will be, as we have been, a team that knows how to face and overcome them with the ability to defend the interests of the 8,000 students we represent," said Margarida Marques in her inauguration speech.
The Dean of NOVA FCT, José Júlio Alferes, recalled during his speech that "AEFCT is the voice of the students. When the board wants to speak to the students, it talks to AEFCT, which has been representing the interests and wishes of the school's student community with loyalty and commitment."
Present at the ceremony, Catarina Ruivo, President of the Lisbon Academic Federation, said that "AEFCT is a school of excellent leaders, with whom it has been a pleasure to work".
The event took place on 14 December in the Grand Auditorium, at 6pm, and was attended by the NOVA FCT Board, Councillor João Eixa, representing the President of the Caparica-Trafaria Parish Council, representatives of other Student Associations, Department Presidents, friends and colleagues.
