The former Civil Engineering student Vanessa Aleixo received honorable mention of the Young Geotechnical Engineering Prize in Portuguesa Language, of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society. The winning work is titled "Bottom failure of excavations caused by upwards seepage".
The award ceremony took place on June 22, at the Closing Session of the 15th National Congress of Geotechnics and of the 8th Portuguese and Brazilian Geotechnical Conference, held at Faculty of Engineerinf of University of Porto.
