João Carlos dos Santos Silva e Pereira de Lima and António Jorge Dias Parola are the new Full Professors of the Department of Chemistry (DQ) at NOVA FCT. The official induction ceremony for these professors took place on December 20, marking the final contract signing event of 2023.
"The role of Full Professor is fundamental in building a Faculty of excellence. These are the positions that define the academic and research areas and steer the destiny of the School," said the Dean, José Júlio Alferes, during the ceremony.
Ana Aguiar Ricardo, Chair of the DQ, took a moment to commend the outstanding work of her colleagues and the cohesive team that the Department has cultivated. Expressing her delight, she stated, "It's truly rewarding to have such a dependable team, and I am genuinely pleased about the new positions you are undertaking today."
Grateful for the recognition, the newly appointed Full Professors expressed their appreciation to the Board and their fellow colleagues. João Carlos Lima humbly acknowledged, "It is through collaborative efforts that I find myself in this position. If I can contribute to the DQ and the School, rest assured of my unwavering commitment." António Jorge Dias Parola eagerly shared, "I am excited about embracing this new role and am eager to contribute to the continued success of the Department and the School."
