António Grilo, full professor of in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at FCT NOVA, has been appointed as the new president of the National Innovation Agency (ANI).
The decision was made during the General Assembly on March 7th by the two shareholders of ANI, namely, IAPMEI (Ministry of Economy) and the Foundation for Science and Technology (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education).
Currently, António Grilo is the President of DEMI, a member of the Board of NOVA.ID and a founding member of the Associate Laboratory in Intelligent Systems. He was also the coordinator of the UNIDEMI Research Centre.
He has published more than 100 papers published in international scientific journals, conferences and book chapters in the fields of Interoperability, Digital Platforms, applications of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain in Industry and Services.
António Grilo has managed over 20 research & development and innovation projects, mainly associated with companies. His recent focus has been on connecting academia and corporations to transferr knowledge and know-how to practitioners through executive training, being the coordinator of the Postgraduate programme in Supply Chain Management, Postgraduate programme in Agile Project Management, and the Inspiring Tech Safari executive programme. He is also passionate about supporting the development of startups and entrepreneurship in the university environment.
