The Scientific Committee of the Master's Degree in Actuarial Mathematics has distinguished students Sara Costa and Ana Domingues with merit scholarships, in recognition of their excellent performance in the academic year 2021/22.
The endowments were awarded during the opening session of this year of the Actuarial Mathematics Master, which took place on 13 September. During the event, the Scientific Committee also announced that it will offer the Student Quota of the Portuguese Actuaries Institute to the students of the 2nd year of the Master's programme.
The session was attended by José Alferes, Dean of NOVA School of Science and Technology, Fabio Chalub, President of the Department of Mathematics, Lourdes Afonso, President of the Portuguese Actuaries' Institute and professor and researcher of the Department of Mathematics of FCT NOVA, and representatives of the sponsoring companies of this training, namely Dr. Pedro Teodoro of Actuarial, Dr. Constança Santa Marta of Mercer, Dr. Paulo Martins and Dr. Nuno van Zeller of Lusitânia and Dr. Joana Pereira of WTW.
