A NOVA School of Science and Technology Research Group | FCT NOVA is one of the participants in the VIT project (Polymer engineering via molecular design: incorporation of electrical and optical properties in VITrimers) which has just been approved for funding under the Horizon 2020 program. The funding allocated is 1,350,000 euros, of which 207,000 are for FCT NOVA.

The CHARM group at LAQV-REQUIMTE is one of ten academic research groups from three different continents (Europe, America, Asia) that are part of the consortium. Also participating are the companies Bormioli Pharma and the Portuguese company Plux Wireless Biosignals.

This recognition certifies and reinforces the classification of Excellent in the latest assessments of the associated laboratory LAQV-REQUIMTE, as well as attests the quality of the School and its commitment to the development of the country through the creation of new knowledge and solutions for society.

With 97 post-doctoral/doctoral students deployed in Europe and worldwide, the Research Consortium's aim is to capitalize on its expertise in chemistry and processing of functional materials to develop a new generation of advanced vitrimers capable of satisfying both requirements of sustainable mobility and those of the circular economy.

The project started on September 1, 2021 and the kick-off meeting was held at the University of Parma on September 22, 2021.
