Cristina Oliveira, alumna at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, was the scientist selected by Sic Notícias to debut the Discoverers program.
The cycle of reports on Portuguese scientists with extraordinary journeys, in various parts of the world, went to Baltimore, USA, to learn about the work of the deputy director of the Scientific Operations Center of the Roman Space Telescope.
The former Physics Engineering student guided the journalists through the Hubble Space Telescope Operations Control Center, where she was team leader for two of the scientific instruments and explained the value of the new Roman Space Telescope, which will be launched in 2026.
