 Advanced Renewable Energy Course in the Water Sector

On November 26, took place the Opening Session of the Advanced Course on Renewable Energy in the Water Sector at the Academia das Águas Livres in Lisbon. The session was chaired by João Pedro Matos Fernandes, Minister of Environment and Climate Action.

The NOVA School of Science and Technology is one of the founders of this innovative program that aims to empower future industry leaders for the energy transition. Over the past 42 years, the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering has followed the evolution of Environmental Engineering, broadening the scope and tools it provides to respond to the new challenges with greater complexity and scale. Participation in this program results from the recognition of the excellence in teaching of NOVA School of Science and Technology, confirmed by the history of colaboration in other formations, by EPAL / Academia das Águas Livres, namely in the Postgraduation in Technologies and Water Management - Engineering Component, which is already in its 4th edition.

The course aims to provide, in an aggregate and coherent way, technical and management skills in the field of various renewable energies to licensed staff oriented to the specificities of the sector and preparing participants for the opportunities of energy transition and decarbonisation.

Participants will receive a degree from the Academia das Águas Livres of an Advanced Program that has the seal of excellence from the NOVA School of Science and Technology, the NOVA School of Business and Economics, the Instituto Superior Técnico, the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, the Tecnologia e Ciência, the ADENE - Energy Agency, the Lisboa E-Nova – Energy and Environment Agency of Lisbon, the AdP Energia, the EPAL and TÜV Rheinland.
