The first Open Day of Conservation on 26 March inaugurated the celebration of the 20 years of the Degree in Conservation and Restoration, under the responsibility of the Department of Conservation and Restoration (DCR), also integrated in the European Year of Heritage.
This celebration was punctuated by events throughout the day as presentations by the teachers and researchers of the DCR, open laboratories with guided tours, shows of conservation and restoration companies by former students of the Department, having as a key point of the day the exhibition "an artist as he has never seen it ", with the presence of emblematic works of art and artists with whom the DCR collaborates. The exhibition was centered on the Beatus do Lorvão of the Egeas copier (1189), the untitled work (McCalls) by Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (1917-1918), the Caixa Alumínio (Óculos) by Lourdes Castro (1962) Sculptures (Ears) by Ângelo de Sousa (1975), in The Path of the Sun (5) by Julião Sarmento (1991) and The Fairy Place by Belén Uriel (2017).
