SHCity Project at the Lisbon Travel Market

Professor Pedro Pereira presented at the Lisbon Travel Market the application for tourists developed by FCT NOVA as part of its participation in the INTERREG SHCITY project.

This application takes advantage of the information gathered by the monitoring systems and allows to optimize the visits of the tourists in the historic center of the city of Ávila, helping to make the visitors and society aware of the importance of preserving properly the heritage. FCT NOVA is participating in the BTL LAB & TRENDS space where it has a continuous demonstration of the application developed and its integration with the project.

The SHCity project was honored with the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, in which the European Union will promote works that contribute "added value to heritage" over the course of 2018. The project started in 2016 under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Interreg V Sudoe program, and its development is carried out by a multidisciplinary team from Spain, France and Portugal, made up of technicians and researchers from the Santa Maria la Real of Historical Heritage, AIDIMME Technological Institute, CARTIF Technology Center, Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering), NOBATEK, Technological Center TECNALIA and the Chamber of Avila.
