The award of Municipal medals and insignias, an initiative of the Municipality of Almada, seeks to honor personalities and institutions that have distinguished themselves by their work in various fields of the collective life of the county.
The event takes place in the movie theater of the “Academia de Instrução e Recreio Familiar Almadense “, on July 15, at 9 pm. This year, one of the personalities receiving the City’s Gold Medal is Professor Fernando Santana, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of UNL. Professor Rodrigo Martins receives the Merit and Dedication Gold Medal.
All persons that received the Gold Medal of the City of Almada had an outstanding performance at their functions and their merit is publicly recognized for the contributions achieved at the social, cultural, civic, scientific, economic or political level.
