Under the program “Ciência Viva no Laboratório”("Living Science in the Laboratory") , 15 Secondary School students visited FCT-NOVA Physics Department . This visit allowed them to have contact with researchers and so they had the chance to observe them more closely observe some of the research in biomedical engineering (biomechanics, tissue engineering, biophysics of the electrophysiological signals, biomedical instrumentation and new diagnostic methods such as analytical electronic nose) and Engineering Physics (atomic physics, molecular physics, science of surfaces, cryogenics, optics and lasers).
