NOVA is leading in the fields of Biomedical and Health Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities. The CWTS Leiden Ranking 2015 assesses and considers the scientific provision of 750 best world educational institutions. A sophisticated set of bibliometric indicators provides statistics on the scientific impact of universities and the universities engagement in scientific collaboration. The ranking is based exclusively on the bibliographic data coming from the Web of Science database.
This year NOVA rose 20 places, increasing the number of publications from 1693 to 1888. The average of citations number also rose from 0.95 to 0.99. The criteria regarding the proportion of publications among the most cited in the world, rose from 8.9% to 9.6%.
