In the past 7 and 8 March, the 1st edition of this event took place at FCT-UNL, organized by Pedro Vieira, member of the Information Technology Group. This is a very popular initiative in foreign universities, particularly in the USA (Boston University and John Hopkins University), during which, groups of students join and work together to develop an application or a website.
This year's theme was the development of a mobile application, a topic that attracted the interest of 13 teams. This initiative also generated interest in several companies that joined this initiative, such as Github, Faber Ventures, Deloitte and Infosistema.
The event ended with the presentation by each group of its developed application and with the assessment of the Top 3 made by a jury composed of three elements (Ivan Bruel Faber Ventures, Nuno Preguiça, Professor of FCT-UNL, and Gonçalo Caeiro of Infosistema). The winning team, with the Raidy Application, was constituted by Gonçalo Mordido, Ivo Anjos, Filipe Cabrita and Francisco Fernandes. The 2nd place, was won with the GRYgrid Application, made by the students André Filipe dos Reis Rodrigues, Francisco Martins Magalhães, João Manuel Correia de Almeida Pereira and Rafael Salgado Seara. The team that brought the CardXchanger Application got the 3rd place and was constituted by the students: Pedro Ferreira, Eduardo Geraldo, André Rijo and Daniel Gomes. Each member of each team received a prize.
