This master's degree qualifies its students to plan, design, construct, rehabilitate, manage or audit public and private constructions, such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, foundations, roads, railways, ports, airports, dams and other hydraulic works, or intervene in areas such as land use, civil protection and the development of construction products.
The Master in Civil Engineering from NOVA FCT will be prepared to respond to current challenges in the building an environment that is intended to be safe, comfortable, durable and sustainable, in line with the United Nations sustainable development goals.

The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering has a flexible curricular structure. The student can opt for personalized training or a specialization in construction, structures or geotechnics.
The specialist content presents a rigorous and up-to-date approach so that the student can acquire the skills that will allow him/her to successfully enter the job market. In addition to the strong basic training in the area of Civil Engineering, it includes complementary transversal training (entrepreneurship and soft skills) that allows you to expand your skills in the area of specialty and also develop personal skills in terms of autonomy, ethics and communication, which are widely valued by employers.
Tuition fee - Portuguese students: 1250€ / year
Tuition fee - Foreign students: 7000€ / year
Accepted candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of €100 (within a maximum of 7 consecutive days from the placement date). This amount will be deducted from the total tuition fee after enrolment.
Failure to pay within this period will result in the candidate's automatic exclusion. No exceptions or late payments will be considered. Any payments made after the deadline will not be refunded, and the candidate will remain excluded.
The Department of Civil Engineering (DEC) was established in 1996 and currently offers a degree in Civil Engineering, three 2nd cycle Master's degrees and several training and postgraduate courses in the fields of Sustainable Construction and Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation of Railway Infrastructure.
