Elvira Fortunato, professor and researcher at NOVA FCT, has once again been recognised as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Portugal, in a ceremony held at the Cupra City Garage in Lisbon. This marks the 10th consecutive year she has been included in the prestigious list promoted by Executiva.pt — a distinction that reflects a career defined by excellence, innovation and leadership.
Since the very first edition, Elvira Fortunato has consistently featured in this select group, a testament to the impact of her work in science, technology, and higher education.
"I receive this distinction with pride, but above all with a sense of responsibility. It is also a recognition of teamwork, of our commitment to public service, science and education, and of the importance of continuing to pave the way for more women in leadership positions," says Elvira Fortunato.
The initiative by Executiva.pt aims to highlight women who stand out for their vision, drive, and transformative influence — while also emphasising the importance of female role models in inspiring future generations to aspire to and attain leadership positions.
