NOVA FCT Athletes Achieve Success at National University Outdoor Track Championships

Catarina do Carmo, a PhD student in Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences, was crowned National University Champion in the 5,000m and National University Vice-Champion in the 3,000m steeplechase.

"It's always a great joy to cross the finish line, knowing that I'm carrying NOVA's name on my chest, and I'm very proud to be part of an institution that values combining sport with academic life. I would like to thank not only my coach and my family for these results, but also my PhD supervisors for their understanding and support," said Catarina do Carmo.

Francisco Pereira, a Mechanical Engineering student, won the National University Championship in the Hammer Throw, and Daniel Rodrigues, a student in the Integrated Master's Degree in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering, placed 3rd in the Hammer Throw.

Elena Furk, a student in the Physics Engineering degree program, achieved 3rd place in the High Jump.
