29 NOVA FCT student-athletes awarded NOVA Sports Merit Scholarships

In pursuit of recognizing and fostering excellence in university sports, NOVA University Lisbon celebrated the Sports Merit Scholarships Awards Ceremony on September 20th, a ceremony that not only acknowledges athletic prowess but also academic achievements.

A total of 70 exceptional student-athletes, who showcased remarkable sporting achievements throughout the 2022/2023 academic year, representing the University in both national and international competitions, were honored.  29 of these outstanding individuals are proudly affiliated with NOVA FCT.

Let's extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year's remarkable students: Alexandre Domingos Moreira, Alexandre Revés Amaro, Andre Filipe Coelho Barragan, André Miguel Santos de Moura, Beatriz Quintão Amantes, Bernardo Gonçalves de Sousa, Catarina Maia Quitério, Catarina Paulino Cidade do Carmo, Dimitri Giocel Botezatu, Diogo Miguel Pereira da Silva, Filipe Miguel Alvarez Marques de Miranda, Francisco Alexandre da Fonseca Oliveira, Francisco António Gouveia Pereira, Gonçalo Pereira da Cunha Vidal Lopes, Henrique da Silva do Nascimento Santos, João Ramada Ferreira, Mafalda Barbosa Pacheco Soares, Mafalda Miranda Salreu Martinho, Mateus Leal Mourinha, Miguel André Marques Trindade, Miguel Lourenço Correia, Miguel Pereira Banza, Pedro André Gonçalves Proença de Castro, Pedro Pacheco Pereira Cavaco, Raquel dos Santos Duque, Rodrigo José Mauríco Dias, Tiago Pereira Rodrigues, Tomás Baeta Martins Correia e Vasco Amorim Ramos Mendes.

These students have excelled in a diverse range of sports including Roller Hockey, Basketball, Karate, Swimming, Archery (Outdoor), Athletics, Taekwondo, Kickboxing Light Kick, Judo, Chess (Individual), Badminton, and Orienteering.

The event was attended by the Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, João Sàágua, the Administrator of NOVA Social Welfare Services (SASNOVA), Paula Machado, and several representatives of the Organic Units.
