26-05-2023

Mariana Dias, PhD student at FCT NOVA, has just been awarded a Fulbright Grant for Research with the support of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.

The student is currently doing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering under the MIT Portugal Program, in the areas of "Data Science" and "Digital Transformation in Manufacturing" and is a researcher at LibPhys-Biosignals, at the Department of Physics of FCT NOVA. Her research focuses on the development of artificial neural networks for processing and extracting patterns from biosignals.

With this grant, the student will now have the opportunity to work at the MIT.Nano Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she will focus on the use of Transfer-Learning techniques to apply neural networks of biosignals in occupational risk assessment, within the scope of the Operator Project.
