The investment in the teaching staff of FCT NOVA has been confirmed throughout this year in several ceremonies that promote faculty career progression and new hires.
On May 12 and 19, two more ceremonies were held to sign contracts with new assistant, associate and full professors, which aim to meet the challenge of cementing the scientific structure and the future of the School, increasing to 46 the number of teachers who have seen their career progression or who have joined the staff since the beginning of 2023.
The Earth Sciences Department gained two new full professors, Fernando Henrique da Silva Reboredo and José Carlos Ribeiro Kullberg. Eurico José da Silva Cabrita is the new full professor of the Chemistry Department. Pedro Manuel da Horta Santos Coelho and Marta Susana Silvestre Gouveia Martins are now Associate Professors at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. In the Department of Life Sciences, Sérgio Joaquim Raposo Filipe has been promoted to the category of Associate Professor. Ana Rita Mendes Londral Gamboa is the new Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics.
In both sessions the Director of FCT NOVA, José Júlio Alferes, reinforced the importance of career promotion actions that "recognize the academic, scientific and pedagogical merit of our teachers".
