Susana Duarte, professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and researcher at UNIDEMI, has been distinguished with the "Woman in Industry and Academia" Award, by the Industrial Engineering & Operations Management Society International (IEOM).
This award recognises the outstanding contribution to the teaching of Industrial Engineering and her exceptional service in this field, as well as in the field of Operations Management, as a researcher.
IEOM is a non-profit organisation that globally promotes critical thinking and its effective use in the field of Industrial Engineering (IE) and Operations Management (OM) by facilitating communication and networking among diverse people, particularly in emerging countries.
The Award ceremony was held in Rome during the Fifth European Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, which was attended by representatives from more than 50 countries.
