Claúdio Fernandes, a professor from the Department of Mathematics at NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, spoke to 30 students from 12th-grade about the history of Cryptography and the educational opportunities available at our School, during a visit to the Secondary School Alfredo dos Reis Silveira in Seixal on March 1st.
The visit was part of the Embaixadores project, an initiative led by FCT NOVA since 2015 aimed at strengthening collaboration with secondary schools. The project provides personalized information about the educational opportunities of the Faculty to students from 11th and 12th-grade, clarifying issues related to accessing public higher education.
During the Cryptography lecture "A History of Cryptography," students learn about the main cryptographic systems that have existed since ancient Greece to the present day.
