FCT NOVA hosts Global Women's Breakfast on February 14

10-02-2023

NOVA School of Science and Technology, through the Department of Chemistry, will once again organize the Global Women's Breakfast (#GWB2023), on the next 14th of February, at 11:00 a.m.

This edition, dedicated to the theme "Oceans Break Barriers", aims to establish an active network of people of all genders to overcome barriers to gender equality in science. GWB is also an iconic event of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development, bringing together people from all scientific disciplines.

This year the event will be celebrated in a hybrid model (online and face-to-face) and features a virtual meeting with colleagues from other universities, scientific societies, and basic and secondary schools, for a one-hour journey through their activities and research projects to train individuals capable of working for sustainable development. This will be followed by a Brunch in the Executive Training Room (ex-CGD, next to the e-Learning Lab, FCT NOVA), whose proceeds will revert to FaCiT.

The Global Women's Breakfast is organised by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC),  together with the UN Women and Girls in Science Day.
