Students, researchers, teaching and non-teaching staff of NOVA School of Science and Technology contributed once again to the success of the national Food Bank campaign.
Our community was one of the many teams spread across the country that this year managed to collect 2,086 tons of food, 24% more than last year, in an action that took place between 26 and 27 November.
The volunteers of FCT NOVA were in Almada, Costa da Caparica and Corroios, coordinated by Madalena Dionisio and by NEC - Núcleo de Estudantes Católicos (Nucleus of Catholic Students). The jovial mood and commitment were essential for the success of the collection of goods to be donated to needy families in the district of Setúbal, so dramatically hit by the economic crisis.
The Food Bank continues with the "Ajuda de Vale" initiative until 4 December, with vouchers available in all supermarkets, each with a specific bar code corresponding to the food selected for donation, whose value is added at the time of payment, or on the website www.alimentestaideia.pt, an online donation portal.
