NOVA School of Science and Technology's new sports center was inaugurated on February 10th. This new equipment from NOVA's Social Action Services (SAS NOVA) promotes the best conditions for the practice of collective sports that are currently the most sought after by FCT NOVA students -5-a-side Football, Handball, Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis.
Therefore, as of today, the teams of NOVA's collective sports and the FCT NOVA Students' Association can enjoy the sports hall, by contacting: desporto@ae.fct.unl.pt
The construction of this sports court corresponds to the first stage of development of the announced project to create a Sports Club NOVA for university students and the local community, resulting from the partnership recently signed with RacketsPro. A project that materializes the University's commitment to sports as a strategic axis of life at the NOVA Campi.
By 2030, NOVA intends to make university life more complete and enriching, enhancing the quality of life on its Campi. At this level, sport occupies a fundamental role in promoting leisure and a healthy lifestyle.
Sport is currently a strong area of NOVA, especially in the competition area, with its students being the most distinguished and awarded medals in the Portuguese university tournement. At FCT NOVA alone there are more than 150 athletes competing annually.
