The Portuguese team, formed by the students Inês Oliveira, João Nuno Coelho, João Pedro Faria and Luís Macedo, obtained excellent results in the 14th edition of the International Earth Science Olympiad.
The students warranted a mention of EXCELLENT with the group work carried out in the context of the NTFI test (National Team Field Investigation); two VERY GOOD mentions (João Nuno Coelho, AE Condeixa‐a‐Nova and João Pedro Faria, Colégio Rainha Santa Isabel, Coimbra) and GOOD mentions (Luís Pedro Macedo, Colégio Rainha Isabel, Coimbra), in the individual DMT test (Data Mining Test), equivalent to the usual theoretical and practical tests; and a VERY GOOD mention in the test of the multinational group ESP (Earth Systems Project), for student Inês Oliveira (AE D. Afonso Henriques, Vila das Aves), the winner of this year's national competition – the 7th edition of the Olympics Portuguese Geology.
The NOVA School of Science and Technology was one of the institutions that collaborated in these tests, providing the necessary logistical support for their execution.
