João Pires, PhD student in Bioenergy at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, won the "Best Oral Presentation 2021" by the Association for the Advancement of the CROPS Industry (AAIC).
"Characterization of Chitosan Biofilms Reinforced Nanocellulose Extracted from Different Lignocellulosic Biomasses" is the title of the winning work, which was supervised by Ana Luísa Fernando, professor and researcher at the Department of Science and Technology of Biomass.
The award was presented during the 32nd Annual Meeting of the AAIC, which took place between the 5th and 9th of September 2021, in Bologna, Italy.
