A team of researchers from the NOVA School of Science and Technology participates in the TecniCov consortium that aims to develop rapid and lowcost tests to detect the immune response to the Sars-Cov-2 virus.
The project was granted 450 thousand euros financing from the National Innovation Agency and proposes to develop “innovative, fast and lowcost tests to monitor antibodies to covid-19, in serum or saliva” that can be produced on a global scale.
Elvira Fortunato, professor and researcher at the Department of Materials Science , coordinates the team of researchers at the NOVA School of Science and Technology.
The consortium, led by the University of Coimbra, includes the participation of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto and the company INOVA +.
