NOVA School of Science and Technology team wins SIMARIS Design Generation Challenge!

Laura Somsen and Marco Silva, Electrical and Computer Engineering students at NOVA School of Science and Technology, and Pedro Pereira, professor at the Department of Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering, were the winners of the 2020 edition of the SIMARIS Design Generation Challenge!

The Eletrofctense team presented the best electricity project for a building and won a trip to the Totally Integrated Power (TIP) center in Germany and the possibility of a one-year professional internship at Siemens Portugal.

In this national challenge, promoted by SIEMENS and aimed at higher education students, NOVA School of Science and Technology had three more finalist teams.

The qualifications of the SIMARIS Design 2020 Generation Challenge took place on February 18th, where the NOVA School of Science and Technology was represented by eight teams. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the final, initially scheduled for March, took place online on June 5th.
