Two important international university rankings highlighted NOVA among the 10 best young universities in Europe.

On the 9th of June, the U-Multirank ranking was published, in which NOVA was classified in the 8th European position among young universities.

NOVA received the highest score in thirteen of the evaluated indicators, which translates into a significant increase compared to 2019 and confirms NOVA's leadership position in several areas of knowledge. The evaluated indicators that received the highest score were: Scientific publications (standardized); External funding for research; Interdisciplinary publications; Number of postdocs; Open Access publications; Financing from private sources; Publications cited in patents; Financing sources of continuous professional development; Student mobility; International Teachers; International publications in partnership; Graduates working in the region; Partnership publications in the region.

U-Multirank evaluated 1800 universities from 92 countries adopting an innovative and multidimensional approach, different from traditional rankings, through a tool for comparative analysis of the performance of institutions, namely in terms of teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional involvement.

The position attained at U-Multirank was reinforced in the last edition of QS World University Rankings, where NOVA was ranked in the European Top 9 among Universities founded less than 50 years ago.

There are six parameters that the QS World University Ranking assesses: academic reputation; reputation among employers; academic citations by researcher; teacher / student ratio; proportion of international students and teachers.

The results confirm the consistency of the work carried out by NOVA in the development of top-class university education and research with impact on society, from the perspective of the country but also of Europe and the world.
