Rodrigo Martins re-elected as President of the European Academy of Sciences

Rodrigo Martins, professor and researcher in the Department of Materials Science at NOVA School of Science and Technology, was re-elected as President of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) for the biennium 2020 - 2022, unanimously by the Presidium of the Academy.

The professor and current Director of CEMOP was the first Portuguese elected to this prominent position in 2018. Carlos Moedas, at the time European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation stated that this nomination represents an “international recognition of the quality of the Portuguese scientific community.”
