The national beach soccer team closed 2019 winning all possible titles. European Games, European League, Mundialito and on 1 December 2019 the World Cup.
These were not the only victories for one of the athletes of the national beach soccer team. On November 4, 2019, João Gonçalves presented at NOVA School of Science and Technology his master's thesis in Food Technology and Safety, "Study of Extract Breakage in the Brassagem Area", and earned another title: Master.
“It's amazing how fast time goes by. It seems that just yesterday I was first entering NOVA School of Science and Technology with no idea what this new stage would be like in my life. Today I present my master's thesis and I have just completed a remarkable cycle in my life. A cycle that brought me friendships and experiences that I never thought to live in these short years of college. These were amazing years, surrounded by even more amazing people that I will remember forever. To this and much more, I have only to thank all those who in one way or another were part of this adventure with me and helped me grow as a person. It was not always easy, to reconcile everything, to give up many things, but if it were not difficult nor would it have 50% of the joke,” said the player on his Instagram.
