GSat: Paper Mission, from Guadalupe College, in Verdizela (Seixal), won the Best Technical Performance in the 6th edition of CanSat Nacional.
This year, Colégio Guadalupe team has done a wonderful job of testing and validating thin-film sensor technology with the support of FCT NOVA, in particular with the Department of Materials Science and CENIMAT. These students will now have the opportunity to intern at Edisoft. Last year, this team was the national winner and ranked 2nd in the European competition.
Cansat is an educational project of ESERO Portugal, organized by Ciência Viva and the European Space Agency (ESA), which challenges secondary school students to develop a micro-satellite, which can not be larger than a soda can, capable of surviving a launch. This competition gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a small-scale space project.
