Ana Sofia Santos, Master student at MMMarques Lab [link: http://docentes.fct.unl.pt/msbm/] (Organic Synthesis & Chemical Biology Group), has been awarded with the Portuguese Award for Best Master Thesis in Organic Chemistry 2017. She did her master degree in Bioorganic Chemistry and her thesis on “Sustainable synthesis of heterocyclic compounds on a soluble polymer support”. Ana Sofia Santos received this award during the 12th National Organic Chemistry Meeting (12ENQO) and the 5th National Medicinal Chemistry Meeting (5ENQT), in Coimbra.
This Best Master Thesis in Organic Chemistry prize is awarded by the Organic Chemistry Division of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ) and sponsored by BluePharma and seeks to recognize the scientific merit of Masters studies performed mostly in national institutions. The award is intended for recent masters graduates, who obtained the degree in national institutions, and is assigned based on the work performed during the Masters in the field of organic chemistry.
