The Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon hosts the sixth edition of TEDxFCTUNL Conference, on June 2, 2017, in the CGD FCT Auditorium.
The theme for this edition is "Creativity".
Different speakers will address the various types of knowledge from the scientific and literary knowledge to the physical and social knowledge.
The TED conferences are organized by a nonprofit organization whose mission is to present ideas whose divulgation is worthwhile ("Ideas Worth Spreading"). The first TED conference held in California (1984), aimed to bring together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design. Since then, its scope has become broader, and people have been invited from all areas to present inspiring ideas. Participants describe these conferences as "the best SPA of mind" and "4-day trip to the future." The TEDs have had as diverse as extraordinary speakers, from scientists to politicians, through CEOs such as Bill Clinton, Isabell Allende, Phillipe Stark, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono.
