We would like to invite the Units / Departments / Laboratories and their researchers to participate in the European Researchers' Night 2017 by carrying out an activity that illustrates the developed research and its impact on citizens.
Submission of activities to the European Researchers' Night 2017 must be made by June 9th through the completion of the form.
This year, the 'European Researchers' Night' will be held on 29 September, with activities centralized once again in MUHNAC and Jardim do Príncipe Real. A broad program of public offerings is already being planned, in general, with the objective to spread information about the excellence of the research produced in our country.
As in 2016, the theme is "SCILIFE - Science in Everyday Life." This challenge arises from the importance of raising citizens' awareness to the influence and the great impact that research can have on their daily lives, as well as on the resolution of various issues that arise in the daily life of our society.
The initiative also aims to raise awareness among researchers and their universities and R & D units of the values and importance of RRI (Responsible Research and Innovation), which has increasingly been highlighted as a focus of interest by the European Commission. Thus, as a sub-theme of 2017, we will also address the topic Ethics in Science, in the format of an open debate that is intended to spread as broadly as possible.
