On February 24th, the final presentation of the projects carried out by the students in the course "Entrepreneurship"was held.
The first prize was won by the project "Power Burp" (David Coutinho, Rui Cabral, Pedro Sobral, Raul Vences, Marta Pereira), which aims to produce energy from the methane produced by the burp of the cows.
"Sheelper" (Bruno Carneiro, Márcia Santos, Ana Fernandes) awarded the second place with a device and system for the replacement of toilet paper in public bathrooms.
The third place was for the "Glooma" project (Daniel Fernandes, Marina Bento, Francisco Nogueira, José Venâncio, Ana Almeida), which includes a screening glove for the prevention of breast cancer.
For the last five years, the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon, has included the compulsory course of Entrepreneurship for all students of the 4th year of the Integrated Masters Degrees and for the 1st year of the 2nd cycle. Every year, this curricular unit covers about 1000 students and is developed in full time regime for 5 weeks, between January and February, with students developing an idea and presenting it in an elevator pitch to a panel of researchers. In its 5th edition, FCT NOVA offered open classes of this course, available through the page of the e-Learning Laboratory with live transmission through the Internet.
