Professor Octávio Mateus discovers plesiosaur fossils with more than 200 million

Professor Octávio Mateus, from FCT NOVA, recently discovered plesiosaurus fossils, a marine reptile more than 200 million years old.

The discovery was made in Greenland during a paleontological expedition. The discovery was already validated and the Professor declared that it is "the oldest plesiosaur of Greenland, about 200 million years old, and the first marine animals to explore that area" at the beginning of the separation of European and American continents, which resulted in the opening of the Atlantic Ocean '(Sapo, 01.01.2017).
