From today until December 11, students, teachers, schools and educational communities from all over the country can participate in a global action whose objective is to familiarize themselves with programming and code - the Portuguese Code Movement.
This movement aims to stimulate the development of skills associated with computational thinking, which is considered as a new form of literacy for the 21st century.
The FCT Coding Fest 2016, an initiative of the FCT NOVA, that took place last November 26th, had the participation of around 250 students coming from 10 elementary schools, accompanied by their teachers and parents, was the chosen stage by the Portuguese Government for the public presentation of this Movement.
