Pedro Coelho, Professor of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at FCT NOVA and UNIDEMI researcher, receives the Perkins’ Prize 2016, awarded to the authors of the best paper published at Medical Engineering & Physics during 2015. The prize was granted by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (www.ipem.ac.uk) during the last Medical Physics & Engineering Conference (MPEC2016), last 13th September in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The paper “Bioresorbable scaffolds for bone tissue engineering: Optimal design, fabrication, mechanical testing and scale-size effects analysis. Medical Engineering and Physics 37 (2015) 287-296” as three other authors, Scott Hollister and Colleen Flanagan, both from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Michigan and Paulo Fernandes, from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Instituto Superior Técnico.
