Within the Ciência Viva no Laboratório - Ocupação Científica de Jovens nas Férias, program the Department of Informatics and the NOVA LINCS received two groups of young students from secondary to learn how to build a computer game.
These young’s exchanged the beach by a scientific internship in the computer labs of the FCT NOVA, for over a week to learn software development techniques applied to the construction of a true computer game.
This initiative has provided 30 students their first programming experience by creating a computer game at all the different stages. At the end of the trainee students showed up excited and amused by what they could learn and experience.
The Ciência Viva program provides to high school students an opportunity to approach the reality of scientific and technological research in various areas of knowledge.
