Professors Elvira Fortunato and Rodrigo Martins named finalists for the 2016 "Eu

This year Professors Elvira Fortunato and Rodrigo Martins were nominated finalists for the "European Inventor Award" and are one of three finalists in the category "Research" of this prestigious European award.

The "European Inventor Award" is an internationally recognized and renowned innovation award given by the "European Patent Office" to recognized European and international inventors. The award ceremony takes place every year in a different city. This year the prize ceremony of this 11st edition will be in Lisbon on 9th June.

Whilst the winners of the Award will be decided by an international jury, one of the 15 finalists will have the chance to take home the Popular Prize, which will be decided in an online poll voted for by the general public.

This is a real chance for the Portuguese public to get behind these inventors. Voting is possible on the EPO website and Facebook page and is open from 26 April until 31 May. All voters will be entered into a draw, giving them the chance to win a prize. One vote is possible every 24 hours until the closing date.
