On January 7th 2016, at the Culturgest Grande Auditorium, the 8th edition of the Green Project Awards Portugal took place attributing an Honorable Mention on Research and Development to the project ‘’Tetra Solar: energy for all’’, from the research centre CENIMAT, FCT NOVA.
For the first time worldwide, using the current amorphous silicon technology, it was possible to produce solar cells on the design of Tetrapak containers with a 4% efficiency, wherein the aluminum coating acts as one of the cell electrodes. This concept can be adapted to smart packaging adding value to numerous devices whose limit is your imagination.
