The educational television program This is Mathematics, led by Professor Rogério Martins, from the Department Mathematics FCT NOVA, promoted by the Portuguese Mathematical Society, returns with a new season broadcasting on SIC Notícias and SIC Internacional, 9th January.
This is Mathematics, shows in a clear and humorous way how mathematics has direct implications in our daily lives. In 2013 the program was awarded with the Special Tribute verciência 2013, for its excellence production, at the International Festival Mostra Internacional de Ciência na TV.
Previously, covering subjects such as mathematics behind the bar codes, the shots on goal in soccer, the design of the sprockets, bets on football pools, systems balance the new season topics will be broadcast on SIC Notícias and SIC international TV channels.
