The 2LBHTM, with the central theme Tropical Medicine and Global Health, will take place inthe FCT NOVA and the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical, 14th-16th October 2015.
It is organized by the Centro Interuniversitário de História da Ciência e Tecnologia (CIUHCT), the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical (IHMT) da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ), and the Centre for Global Health Histories (CGHH), da Universidade de York.
The event also includes the exhibition "Tropics" - Knowledge and Medical Practices in the 20th century, at the Sala Agora from the FCT Library. This exhibition brings together contributions from various museums of medicine and related areas in Portugal, Brazil and the United Kingdom and can be visited until 30 October.
