The Seminar Programme on the Socio-Professional Aspects of Informatics, organized as part of a 4th year course of the NOVA Integrated Master Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, culminated, last week, with an Expert Panel on Careers in Informatics. This panel was composed of engineers Pedro Alves (Opensoft), Lúcio Ferrão (Outsystems) and Christopher Claude (BNP Paribas). During 9 weeks, the seminar programme included expert contributions from very diverse institutions like Ordem dos Engenheiros, Polícia Judiciária, IEEE, Banco de Portugal, Caixa Mágica, among others. This initiative contributes to the exposure of the students to non-technical topics of special relevance to future Informatics Engineers, which are seldom explored in an academic environment. The programme was organized by professors Armanda Rodrigues, Vasco Amaral and Paulo Lopes.
