In order to recognize the excellence of its freshmen students, NOVA University of Lisbon created the "NOVA Freshmen Scholarship ". This Scholarship aims not only to identify and recognize the best students of the 1st year of Undergraduate and Integrated University Masters, by paying the value of a year’s fee and also giving them a diploma certifying their good competence and performance.
Thirty nine students received this scholarship, 17 of them study at FCT-UNL. The prize awarded to these Excellence Freshmen Students also aims to bring closer higher education to secondary and primary education, as these levels of education constitute the basis that turn these Students capable to be the best of the Faculties where they study now. Thus, this case not only honored NOVA students, but also the Secondary School Teachers and Secondary Schools that have contributed to its formation.
