Two papers were awarded in the International Conference on Rehabilitation in Alcoitão, related with work developed by Professors Adelaide Jesus, Pedro Vieira and Claudia Quaresma and students from the MIEB, from the Physics Department,
Prize Santana Carlos assigned to the project SYPEC: Upgrading System for Evaluation and Posture Correction. The SYPEC is an intelligent chair that allows the evaluation and correction of posture in the sitting position. It has been developed by Professors Adelaide Jesus, Pedro Vieira and ClaudiaQuaresma, by Engineers Hugo Pereira and Rui Almeida, and the PhD student Engineer Leonardo Martins.
Honorable Mention for better communication with the paper "Biomechanics Spinal Analysis through innovative equipment: Vertebral Metrics". The VertebralMetrics (national and international patent) is a non-invasive and completely innovative in the health system that performs a global, three-dimensionalanalysis of the spine in the standing position. This system has been developed by Professors Pedro Vieira and Claudia Quaresma and by PhD studentsEngineer Ana Gabriel and MD José Machado.
