It is now open a call for applications to a research scholarship (BI) following the work done for the project QREN 13330 – SYPEC (System for Postural Evaluation and Correction).
We pretend to hire a Master in Biomedical Engineering or similar degree in order to develop new applications for the Rehabilitation area, using as basis the work done for the project QREN 13330 – SYPEC, finished last June. This will proceed within a partnership between the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa and NGNS-Ingenious Solutions.
The development to be implemented is based on instrumentation and has a relevant component of software / firmware design and research of biomechanics and mathematical modelation. Namely, the hired person has to:
- participate in the meetings with the rehabilitation specialist in order to define the specifications of the new product;
- develop a new pneumatic system specific for the rehabilitation area;
- design and implement new firmware to perform the global control of the system;
- participate in the preliminary clinical tests to be performed.
Education
General: Master in Biomedical Engineering or similar degree.
Specific: knowledge of instrumentation and Java and/or Android programming.
Duration and Activity Regime:
The scholarship will have a 6 months duration, starting immediately after the conclusion of the selection procedure, to be held in exclusivity, in agreement with the regulations for human resources advanced education of FCT/UNL; it may be renewed for another 6 months period.

Doutora Adelaide Pedro de Jesus, Full Professor of the Departamento de Física da FCT/UNL.
Payment:
980 Euros/month.

Selection criteria:
(1) Motivational and curricular evaluation considering mainly the relevance of the education and professional background to the specifications of the project (2) interview (optional) of some selected candidates. These two items will have a weight of 60% and 40%, respectively. The Master degree classification will be used to decide between equal candidates.
Results
A minute of the Jury meeting to evaluate and order the candidates will be produced and sent to all the candidates.
